倫敦大學學院(UCL)總結(jié)英國女王圣誕演講“套路滿滿”....

昨日，英國女王在白金漢宮錄制了萬眾矚目的“圣誕演講”，不同于女王去年的圣誕致辭，今年女王整個圣誕演講詞的重點定在了“家”...但不少英國媒體紛紛對此，進行猜測"女王演講的周圍照片是68歲兒子查爾斯王子，那他很有可能會將王位傳給查爾斯，而不是威廉王子"....倫敦大學學院UCL的專家們，總結(jié)出了女王圣誕演講詞“套路滿滿”.....

從英國女王1951年到2016年發(fā)表的64次圣誕演講中，女王一共用了4.2萬個詞，但是只有3991個詞從來沒有重復(fù)過。

這么算下來，女王的演講中只有9.5%的詞是新詞?？梢哉f，女王的演講都是套路啊!

女王在演講里經(jīng)常重復(fù)的詞有：

families(家庭)

Commonwealth(英聯(lián)邦)

children(兒童)

peoples(人民)

經(jīng)常重復(fù)用的短語有：

tragic example(悲慘的例子)

shining example(杰出的榜樣)

weak and innocent(弱小又無辜的)...

2016年女王演講的主題是“鼓舞人心(inspiration)”，今年，演講的主題為“家(home)”。

女王在演講中，闡釋了“家”的意義：

“我們把家當成溫馨、熟悉和愛的來源,共享記憶和故事。這也就是為什么每到圣誕大家都會回到家鄉(xiāng)，對家鄉(xiāng)的思念是永恒的。對大家而言，家不僅僅是一棟房子，也不是家鄉(xiāng)或者一個城市……我們希望家園是安全的，甚至是避難所?！?/p>

在今年5月，白金漢宮宣布了現(xiàn)年96歲的菲利普親王在今年秋季退休的決定，英國女王對此表示支持。1952年至今，菲利普親王單獨執(zhí)行了22219項王室公務(wù)，菲利普親王此后將不再單獨承擔王室公務(wù)，但仍會以女王丈夫的身份陪女王出行。

在演講中，女王特別用一整段來感謝菲利普親王的支持，她還稱贊了菲利普親王“獨特的幽默感”。

女王在演講中還特別提到了倫敦和曼徹斯特今年經(jīng)歷的恐襲，稱贊她去看望的幸存者是“所有人的榜樣，展現(xiàn)了極強的勇氣和抵抗力”。

同時，作為英國極具“困難”，“經(jīng)歷頗多”的一年，女王在演講詞中，也對各種自然災(zāi)害以及恐怖襲擊等事件的受害者們給與慰問.....

那“Merry Christmas”與“Happy Christmas”有哪些區(qū)別呢?

一般來說，在美國圣誕節(jié)，大家說的最多的是“Merry Christmas”，Merry Christmas的普及度高于Happy   Christmas。

但是在英聯(lián)邦國家，人們多用Happy，而少用Merry。Merry Christmas在英國女王的歷年圣誕致辭中僅出現(xiàn)了四次，剩下的都是Happy   Christmas。因為在維多利亞時期，社會風氣比較保守，merry一詞有“醉醺醺”的意思，所以大家把merry換上了更為中性的happy。事實上在英國，Happy   Christmas的流行程度要大于Merry Christmas。

Merry Christmas的起源

其實“Merry   Christmas”的起源問題，比較模糊，相傳最早，可以追溯到1534年。英國的羅馬天主教主教約翰·費舍爾寫給英國政治家托馬斯·克倫威爾的圣誕祝賀信中就首次出現(xiàn)了“Merry   Christmas”。

Merry的原意是“jovial,and outgoing，probably mildly   intoxicated”，就是天性活潑的，可能還有些醉了。

所以，“最長待機”的女王在每年的圣誕講話中都會不疾不徐地道一聲：Happy Christmas，而不是Merry Christmas了。

Sixty years ago today, a young woman spoke about the speed of technological   change as she presented the first television broadcast of its kind. She   described the moment as a landmark:

"Television has made it possible for many of you to see me in your homes on   Christmas Day. My own family often gather round to watch television as they are   at this moment, and that is how I imagine you now."

六十年前的今天，一個年輕女子在第一次電視演講時提到科技進步的飛速，她把那一刻稱為里程碑：

“現(xiàn)在你們可以在圣誕節(jié)的自己家中看到我，電視讓這一切變得可能。我的家人也會在這一刻聚集起來看電視，我覺得你們現(xiàn)在也一定是這樣?！?/p>

Six decades on, the presenter has ‘evolved’ somewhat, as has the technology   she described. Back then, who could have imagined that people would one day be   watching this on laptops and mobile phones – as some of you are today. But I’m   also struck by something that hasn’t changed. That, whatever the technology,   many of you will be watching this at home.

六十年后，當年演講的女子自身也進步了，就像她形容的科技發(fā)展一樣。那時候，誰能想到現(xiàn)在的人們用筆記本電腦和手機觀看這一切，就像今天的你們一樣。我也很開心的看到有些東西并沒有改變,無論科技如何進步，你們都會在家中看到這個演講。

We think of our homes as places of warmth, familiarity and love; of shared   stories and memories, which is perhaps why at this time of year so many return   to where they grew up. There is a timeless simplicity to the pull of home.

我們把家當成溫馨、熟悉和愛的來源，共享記憶和故事。這也就是為什么每到圣誕大家都會回到家鄉(xiāng)，對家鄉(xiāng)的思念是永恒的。

For many, the idea of “home” reaches beyond a physical building – to a home   town or city. This Christmas, I think of London and Manchester, whose powerful   identities shone through over the past twelve months in the face of appalling   attacks. In Manchester, those targeted included children who had gone to see   their favourite singer. A few days after the bombing, I had the privilege of   meeting some of the young survivors and their parents.

對大家而言，家不僅僅是一棟房子，也不是家鄉(xiāng)或者一個城市。今年圣誕，我想到了倫敦和曼徹斯特。在過去一年，面對襲擊時，他們的堅韌性格愈發(fā)凸顯。在曼徹斯特，襲擊的目標包括孩童，那些孩子只是為了去看看自己最喜歡的歌手。在爆炸后幾天，我有幸去拜訪了幾位年輕的幸存者和他們的父母。

I describe that hospital visit as a “privilege” because the patients I met   were an example to us all, showing extraordinary bravery and resilience.

我把那次去醫(yī)院的拜訪稱為珍貴的機會，因為那里的患者是我們所有人的榜樣，展現(xiàn)了極強的勇氣和抵抗力。

Indeed, many of those who survived the attack came together just days later   for a benefit concert.It was a powerful reclaiming of the ground, and of the   city those young people call home.

We expect our homes to be a place of safety – “sanctuary” even – which makes   it all the more shocking when the comfort they provide is shattered.

A few weeks ago, The Prince of Wales visited the Caribbean in the aftermath   of hurricanes that destroyed entire communities.

And here in London, who can forget the sheer awfulness of the Grenfell Tower   fire?

Our thoughts and prayers are with all those who died and those who lost so   much; and we are indebted to members of the emergency services who risked their   own lives, this past year, saving others.Many of them, of course, will not be at   home today because they are working, to protect us.

Reflecting on these events makes me grateful for the blessings of home and   family, and in particular for 70 years of marriage.

I don’t know that anyone had invented the term “platinum” for a 70 wedding   anniversary when I was born. You weren’t expected to be around that long.Even   Prince Philip has decided it’s time to slow down a little – having, as he   economically put it, “done his bit”.

這一切讓我感激我的家人，尤其是我維持了70年的婚姻。不知道我出生的時候，有沒有人稱70年為“白金婚”。那個時代，大多數(shù)人無法活到那個年紀。菲利普親王決定退休，他說自己已經(jīng)“做好了他那份工作”。

But I know his support and unique sense of humour will remain as strong as   ever, as we enjoy spending time this Christmas with our family and look forward   to welcoming new members into it next year.

In 2018 I will open my home to a different type of family: the leaders of the   fifty-two nations of the Commonwealth, as they gather in the UK for a   summit.

The Commonwealth has an inspiring way of bringing people together, be it   through the Commonwealth Games – which begin in a few months’ time on   Australia’s Gold Coast – or through bodies like the Commonwealth Youth Orchestra   & Choir: a reminder of how truly vibrant this international family is.

Today we celebrate Christmas, which itself is sometimes described as a   festival of the home. Families travel long distances to be together.

Volunteers and charities, as well as many churches, arrange meals for the   homeless and those who would otherwise be alone on Christmas Day.

今天，我們一起慶祝圣誕節(jié),這個節(jié)日有時會被形容為一個家庭節(jié)日。家庭成員們跋山涉水聚集起來。

We remember the birth of Jesus Christ whose only sanctuary was a stable in   Bethlehem.

He knew rejection, hardship and persecution; and yet it is Jesus Christ’s   generous love and example which has inspired me through good times and bad.

我們銘記耶穌基督的誕生，他的庇護所是耶路撒冷的伯利恒，他的家鄉(xiāng)。他經(jīng)歷了拒絕、苦難和迫害，但是耶穌基督無私的愛引領(lǐng)我一路走來。
