The Major in Software Engineering will prepare our networking students for the future of work through units of study that focus on software design and programming, quality assurance and testing, and advanced applications development in mobile technologies and robotics.

Graduates of the Software Engineering Major may find employment in areas of software defined networking, software-driven business applications, and enterprise system management within a wide range of public and private enterprises. Typical roles include business computing developer, enterprise system architect, and large scale enterprise application manager. Other roles can include IT business analyst, software test analyst, software designer and developer, mobile app designer and developer. Exciting future opportunities also lay in the domains of cyber security, the internet of things, robotics, and software-driven enterprise computing systems, as a network designer or a manager.
